Guild Quest. Day 4. Club 69. Nothing Complicated

🎩🎂 CLUB 69: NOTHING COMPLICATED
DAY 4 — "BOYS, EVERYTHING IS UNDER CONTROL"

📍 Club 69 — 12:20 AM

🎩🍸 By twenty minutes past midnight, Max had become dangerously confident. He no longer checked the clock every twenty minutes, had learned to distinguish the staff's expressions for everything is fine and please come immediately, and had even begun to suspect that Anton's nightclub might be a rather enjoyable place to work. The Royal Coronation had been a triumph, the Snatchin dance competition had become legendary, and the bachelorette party had concluded without anyone requiring medical attention or diplomatic immunity. Naturally, this was the precise moment when the administrator approached with another request. "Sir, the gentlemen's private entertainment is about to begin." "We'll handle it," Max replied. "You haven't asked what it involves." Max considered this. "Excellent point. What does it involve?" "A dancer. From a cake." Max nodded thoughtfully. "Of course. A dancer from a cake. Perfectly normal." Nearby, our Guild had settled into a comfortable arrangement involving cocktails, laughter, and several increasingly improbable accounts of the evening. "Did he say cake?" Julie asked. "He did," I confirmed. "And I don't think he means dessert."

🎂💃 Backstage, Max discovered two enormous cakes. One was beautifully decorated with pink roses, white frosting, and delicate ribbons. The other was a towering chocolate creation adorned with gold stars and a sign reading HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. A harried stagehand explained that the first contained a professional dancer hired for the gentlemen's party, while the second was intended for a separate celebration later that evening. Unfortunately, Max was interrupted before he could determine which cake was scheduled for which room. The stagehand disappeared, another employee arrived, and within minutes both cakes were being wheeled in opposite directions. "Wait!" Max called. "Which one has the dancer?" "The one with the surprise!" replied the employee. Max stared after him. "They're BOTH surprises!" Meanwhile, the gentlemen's party had assembled in the private lounge: twelve distinguished fellows who considered themselves long-standing patrons of Club 69 and expected entertainment worthy of their status. Max decided that the simplest solution was to proceed confidently. He ordered the lights dimmed, the music prepared, and the larger cake delivered to the center of the room. "Gentlemen," he announced grandly, "prepare yourselves for an unforgettable experience!"

🎺🤣 The music swelled. The spotlights converged. Twelve gentlemen leaned forward expectantly. Max gestured toward the enormous chocolate cake. Nothing happened. He gestured again. Still nothing. "Perhaps she's shy," whispered one gentleman. Max tapped the frosting. "Hello?" A muffled voice answered from somewhere behind the curtains. "WRONG CAKE!" At that exact moment, a tremendous cheer erupted from the main dance floor. Max turned toward the doorway just in time to see the REAL cake burst open beneath the disco ball. A spectacular dancer named Roxie emerged in a glittering turquoise costume, arms raised triumphantly, only to discover that her audience consisted of the Explorers Guild, several confused bridesmaids, and a bartender polishing glasses. Roxie surveyed the room. "Well," she announced, "this isn't the bachelor party!" Julie immediately applauded. "Who cares? You're fabulous!" Oksana began laughing. Mad grabbed the microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen, an unexpected cultural exchange!" Tara consulted her notebook. "I believe we've discovered a significant scheduling discrepancy." "That's one way of putting it," I replied.

🕺🎂 Max hurried onto the dance floor, followed by the twelve gentlemen, who had decided that whatever was happening looked considerably more interesting than waiting for their cake to perform. Roxie, displaying the instincts of a true professional, immediately adapted. "All right, boys!" she announced. "If you want a show, you're going to help make one!" She began teaching the gentlemen a simple dance routine, which rapidly expanded when the bridesmaids joined in. Oksana demonstrated several impressive turns. LaLa recruited additional dancers. DeNae organized the participants into rows, while Julie insisted on adding a dramatic finale. Mad became the unofficial commentator, describing each maneuver with the enthusiasm of a sports announcer. Tara attempted to establish a scoring system but abandoned it when one gentleman accidentally invented a dance step involving his own necktie. Then Roxie pointed toward me. "And YOU, handsome gentleman in the gold jacket! Come here!" I glanced behind me, hoping she'd discovered another elderly man dressed like a retired disco emperor. No such luck. "I should warn you," I told her, "my last serious dance performance occurred during an era when polyester was considered a scientific breakthrough." Roxie grinned. "Perfect! Show us!" And so, beneath the enormous mirrored disco ball, I unleashed a series of disco moves that had remained safely dormant since approximately 1978. The crowd went absolutely wild. Whether from admiration or disbelief remains a matter of historical dispute.

🎉🍾 Within minutes, the gentlemen's private entertainment had become a full-scale nightclub variety show. Roxie performed her spectacular routine, the bridesmaids contributed an enthusiastic chorus line, and the Guild demonstrated that collective enthusiasm could overcome almost any deficiency in professional training. Max even joined the final number, performing a surprisingly respectable dance alongside the administrator, who had long since abandoned any attempt to restore the original schedule. At the conclusion, Roxie leaped onto the stage, raised both arms, and shouted, "BEST WRONG PARTY I'VE EVER WORKED!" The applause shook the room. One of the gentlemen approached Max and solemnly shook his hand. "Young man, we've been coming here for fifteen years. That was magnificent!" Max smiled. "Glad you enjoyed it." "We want the same thing next month!" Max's smile faltered. "Next month?" "Absolutely! And make sure the gentleman in the gold jacket returns!" I raised my glass from across the room. "My agent will be in touch!" The administrator leaned toward Max. "Actually, sir, we used to do this rather differently." Max surveyed the laughing crowd. "It's a little late to change it now, don't you think?"

🌟🎶 As the music softened, the nightclub settled into that peculiar atmosphere that follows a truly successful celebration. Roxie was signing autographs, the gentlemen were exchanging photographs, and the bridesmaids had somehow convinced the bartender to name a cocktail after the misplaced cake. Max leaned against the bar, exhausted but smiling. "You know," he told me, "I think I've finally stopped worrying about what Anton will say." "Excellent," I replied. "Because I suspect Anton is going to have quite a lot to say." Max laughed. "He'll understand." "Of course he will," I agreed. "Eventually." Behind us, the Snatchin face-controller was carefully recording the evening's events in his little ledger. He looked up, caught Max's eye, and gave him a small, almost imperceptible nod of approval. Max smiled back. It was the first time the stern little creature had acknowledged him without appearing to contemplate disciplinary action. For the first time that night, Max felt that he genuinely belonged at Club 69.

📌 FOUND: The Dancer from a Cake — "Entrance for Boys Only" Collection

A spectacular cake mix-up transformed a private gentlemen's party into Club 69's first all-inclusive nightclub variety show, featuring Roxie, the Explorers Guild, twelve enthusiastic gentlemen, and one unexpectedly resurrected disco legend.

День 5
https://upforme.ru/uploads/0019/3c/8c/513/t899660.png

Guilde To the Manor Born

Merci 🥰

🪙 EPISODE 5 — THE LAST COIN IN THE GALAXY 🌌

Today's discovery: MARS CURRENCY

There is something magical about the final moments of an extraordinary night.

The music becomes softer.

The laughter becomes warmer.

The friends who arrived expecting nothing more than a little dancing suddenly realize they've shared something unforgettable.

Outside Club 69, a beautiful Martian sunrise was beginning to paint the crimson mountains in brilliant gold.

Inside, the last guests were lingering over their drinks.

A silver-skinned alien was asleep in a velvet chair.

A group of Pleiadian bridesmaids were taking one final photograph beneath the celestial mirror ball.

John was examining a miniature spacecraft model, still insisting the portal technology required considerably more investigation.

And Rowan was attempting to sweep his own glitter off the dance floor.

Unsuccessfully.

"It keeps multiplying!" he complained.

"BECAUSE YOU KEEP MAKING MORE!" DeNae replied.

Mad had found the perfect spot beside the panoramic windows.

"Oh, would you LOOK at this sunrise!"

She was right.

The sky above Mars glowed with magnificent shades of copper, violet, and champagne gold.

For once, even I was quiet.

Then the bartender placed a beautiful silver-and-red coin on the counter in front of Max.

Its surface shimmered with tiny constellations.

At its center was the number 69.

"Your final responsibility, sir."

Max stared at it.

"Please tell me I don't have to activate anything else."

The bartender laughed.

"No, sir. This is the traditional Mars Currency of Gratitude."

Max turned the coin over.

"What do I do with it?"

"You give it away."

"To whom?"

"The person who made this night extraordinary."

Max looked around the room.

"Oh."

For the first time all night, he seemed genuinely troubled.

He looked at John, who had helped keep everyone calm.

At Julie, whose brilliant mind had solved every unexpected puzzle.

At DeNae, who had fed an astonishing assortment of extraterrestrial guests.

At Lala, who had kept everyone laughing.

At Mad, who had made every celebration more beautiful.

At Oksana, whose quiet wisdom had guided us through one impossible situation after another.

At Rowan, whose magic had transformed ordinary disco decorations into cosmic wonders.

And at me.

Who had, admittedly, screamed "ALIENS!" approximately thirty-seven times.

Max sighed.

"How am I supposed to choose just one person?"

The bartender smiled.

"That is why the tradition matters."

I watched Max thoughtfully examine the coin.

Then I noticed something.

The little stars around its edge were moving.

"Max?"

He looked up.

"YES, Tara?"

"I think your coin is trying to tell you something."

John rolled his eyes.

"Oh, not another conspiracy."

But the bartender's expression changed.

He leaned closer.

"Interesting. Very interesting."

I examined the glowing inscription.

Seven little stars surrounded a single golden heart.

I recognized the design.

It was the same symbol we had seen during the Pleiadian bride's celebration.

And suddenly I understood.

"MAX! THE COIN DOESN'T WANT YOU TO PICK A WINNER!"

Everyone turned toward me.

"It wants you to recognize what made the night special!"

Max considered this.

Then his face softened.

"I know exactly who deserves it."

He walked toward the far end of the club.

Where a familiar man had just entered through a small silver doorway.

ANTON.

He looked tired but pleased, carrying a little case of portal equipment.

"Everything's secured," he announced. "All the return systems are ready."

Max held out the coin.

Anton stared.

"What's this?"

"The last Mars Currency of the night."

Anton laughed.

"Max, you're supposed to give that to someone who made the evening unforgettable."

"Exactly."

Anton looked puzzled.

Max smiled.

"Eighteen years ago, we were two schoolboys who promised we'd never lose touch."

Anton grew quiet.

"Then life happened," Max continued. "And somehow we did."

He held up the coin.

"But you found me again. You trusted me. You invited me into this completely ridiculous adventure."

He paused.

"And because of you, I spent a night with wonderful friends, met people from other worlds, and discovered that life still has plenty of surprises."

Anton smiled.

Max placed the coin in his hand.

"So I'm choosing you, old friend. Because without you, none of us would be here."

For a moment, Anton said nothing.

Then he embraced Max.

And the coin began to glow.

BRIGHTER.

BRIGHTER.

BRIGHTER STILL.

The tiny stars spun around the golden heart.

The light burst outward in a beautiful circle, illuminating every person in the club.

And high above us, the celestial mirror ball began to sing.

Not with words.

But with a gentle, magical harmony that seemed to come from the stars themselves.

Oksana smiled.

"The ancient magic has accepted the gift."

The Martian bartender bowed.

"Friendship freely given is the greatest treasure in the universe."

Even John looked touched.

Lala wiped at her eyes.

"Oh, for crying out loud. I did NOT put on waterproof mascara for emotional extraterrestrial nonsense."

DeNae hugged her.

Mad raised her martini.

"To old friends finding each other again!"

Julie smiled.

"And new friends finding one another along the way."

Elon stepped forward.

"Well, Max, I think you've officially improved Club 69."

Max laughed.

"Does that mean I get a raise?"

Elon grinned.

"You're going to want to hear the offer."

Max immediately pointed a finger.

"NO MORE SURPRISE PORTALS."

The entire club burst into laughter.

And as the last beautiful notes faded into the Martian sunrise, I realized something.

Tonight hadn't really been about the dance floor.

Or the glitter.

Or even the aliens.

Although the aliens were PRETTY SPECTACULAR.

It had been about friendship.

The kind that survives eighteen years apart.

The kind that crosses entire galaxies.

And the kind that makes even the most ridiculous adventures feel like home.

📖 TARA'S HANDY DANDY JOURNAL — DAY 5

Dear Journal,

Tonight Max gave the final Mars Currency to Anton.

Not to the most glamorous guest.

Not to the best dancer.

Not even to the brilliant and extraordinarily humble woman wearing the purple tiara.

ME.

He gave it to his oldest friend.

And honestly?

It was perfect.

We came to Mars expecting a party.

Instead, we discovered that friendship is the greatest magic in the universe.

Also, I'm bringing home a Martian cocktail recipe.

Possibly a small meteorite.

And definitely a photograph of John dancing.

That photograph is going in a FRAME.

Love from the Red Planet,
Tara 👑💜

🛸 THE CLOSING — THE LAST DANCE BEFORE EARTH 🌍✨

Sixty-nine million miles from home. One final dance. And a return journey nobody would ever forget.

The Martian sunrise was magnificent.

The club was glowing softly beneath the last reflections of the celestial mirror ball.

And we were finally preparing to return to Mystery Manor Village.

Elon stood beside the enormous circular portal, his sleek black suit looking annoyingly perfect after an entire night of galactic dancing.

Anton was carefully checking the controls.

Max was standing several feet away from anything with buttons.

A wise decision.

"Everything's ready," Anton announced.

Elon nodded.

"One last thing."

Oh, heavens.

I knew that tone.

Elon smiled.

"Before we leave, our friends from the Pleiades have prepared a farewell."

The lights dimmed.

The magnificent glass ceiling filled once more with a thousand shimmering stars.

And from the celestial garden descended Princess Aeloria.

She wore a breathtaking sapphire-blue gown, her long white hair floating gracefully around her shoulders.

Beside her stood several radiant Pleiadian princesses.

Their luminous faces shone with kindness.

Their gowns sparkled like entire galaxies.

And behind them fluttered a gathering of beautiful fairies.

I was practically vibrating.

"DE NAE! LOOK!"

"I'm looking, Tara."

"THE PRINCESSES!"

"Yes, I see them."

"THE FAIRIES!"

"Yes, dear."

"THE ALIENS!"

"TARA, WE HAVE BEEN ON MARS ALL NIGHT."

I grinned.

"BEST. NIGHT. EVER."

Princess Aeloria approached me.

"Tara, your guild has brought something precious to our world."

I blinked.

"We brought snacks."

DeNae elbowed me.

The princess laughed softly.

"You brought joy. Friendship. Laughter. And the reminder that the universe is filled with light, even in its darkest corners."

She touched my jeweled tinfoil tiara.

A tiny sapphire star appeared among its purple gems.

"For you, fearless little seeker of mysteries."

I gasped.

"AN ACTUAL ALIEN TIARA GEM?!"

John closed his eyes.

"Oh, we'll never hear the end of this."

"CORRECT!"

The princess turned toward the others.

For DeNae, she offered a small emerald crystal that glowed whenever someone nearby needed comfort.

For Julie, a delicate silver star containing a map of constellations never seen from Earth.

For John, a miniature floating model of the solar system.

He examined it carefully.

"Remarkable engineering."

The princess smiled.

"Or magic."

John hesitated.

"...Perhaps both."

I NEARLY FAINTED.

For Lala, she presented a beautiful crystal cocktail glass that would never spill, no matter how enthusiastically its owner danced.

"FINALLY!" Lala exclaimed. "Technology I can appreciate!"

For Mad, a tiny golden celestial compass, capable of revealing the most beautiful sunrise wherever she traveled.

Mad hugged the princess.

"Oh, this is wonderful!"

For Oksana, an ancient Pleiadian feather quill that could organize even the most chaotic collection of magical records.

Oksana looked delighted.

"How thoughtful."

And for Rowan?

The princess produced a tiny bottle containing the purest starlight glitter in the universe.

Rowan trembled.

"IS THAT..."

She nodded.

"Unlimited sparkle."

DeNae gasped.

"NOOOOO!"

Too late.

Rowan opened it.

POOOOOOF!

An enormous cloud of shimmering cosmic dust exploded across the dance floor.

Every single person in the club sparkled.

Even Elon.

He looked down at his immaculate black suit.

Now covered in brilliant gold glitter.

There was a moment of stunned silence.

Then Lala burst out laughing.

"WELL, ELON, YOU'VE BEEN OFFICIALLY GOBLINIZED!"

Even Elon laughed.

"That's definitely a first."

The princesses joined hands.

The fairies circled above us.

And a gentle celestial melody filled the club.

One final dance.

Beneath the stars.

On Mars.

With friends from worlds we had only dreamed existed.

For a few precious moments, nobody worried about portals or distances or the mysteries waiting back home.

We simply danced.

Together.

Then Anton announced:

"Time to go!"

The enormous silver portal began to glow.

69.

Elon stepped forward.

"Thank you for visiting the 69 Million Miles Club!"

I waved enthusiastically.

"WE'LL BE BACK!"

Max shouted, "PLEASE MAKE RESERVATIONS NEXT TIME!"

The portal opened.

A magnificent spiral of stars surrounded us.

Mars disappeared beneath our feet.

The universe stretched into brilliant streams of light.

And—

WHOOSH!

We were home.

Mystery Manor Village.

The familiar cobblestone streets.

The old Victorian houses.

The cool morning air.

And the mysterious Club 69 standing exactly where we'd left it.

The enormous circular portal quietly vanished behind the bar.

The club doors opened.

Outside, the village was peaceful.

Almost suspiciously peaceful.

No Martian mountains.

No floating spacecraft.

No alien ambassadors.

Just the ordinary village waking up to another ordinary day.

As if nothing had happened.

John stepped onto the sidewalk.

"Well, that was certainly an unusual evening."

I stared at him.

"UNUSUAL?!"

He smiled.

"Extraordinary, then."

"JOHN."

"Yes, Tara?"

"DO YOU BELIEVE ME ABOUT ALIENS NOW?"

He looked at my glowing sapphire tiara.

At the floating solar system in his hands.

At Rowan's sparkling horns.

And at the enormous circular doorway that had just transported us across the solar system.

He sighed.

"I am prepared to reconsider certain assumptions."

I SCREAMED.

"THAT COUNTS!"

DeNae grabbed my arm.

"Come on, little sister. Let's get breakfast."

Julie smiled.

"Preferably somewhere on Earth."

Lala raised her indestructible cocktail glass.

"To Club 69!"

Mad lifted her golden celestial compass.

"To beautiful places and extraordinary friends!"

Oksana smiled warmly.

"To the adventures still waiting for us."

Rowan threw another handful of glitter into the air.

"TO SPARKLES!"

"ROWAN!" everyone shouted.

Max stood beside Anton, looking at the now-quiet nightclub.

Anton grinned.

"So. Would you like to look after the place again sometime?"

Max considered the question.

For a long moment.

Then he smiled.

"Maybe."

Anton raised an eyebrow.

"Really?"

"Yes. But next time, I want to know which PLANET I'm supervising."

And with that, our extraordinary night at Club 69 came to an end.

Or so we thought.

Because as we walked toward the village square, the little sapphire star in my tiara suddenly flashed.

Once.

Twice.

Then a tiny message appeared in the air before me.

"UNTIL THE STARS CALL AGAIN."

I smiled.

Ohhhhh.

They definitely would.

📖 THE LAST SCRIBBLE… FOR NOW! ✨

Dear Handy Dandy Journal,

We made it home.

All of us.

No injuries.

No missing guild members.

No accidental marriages to extraterrestrial royalty.

Although Lala did receive a rather enthusiastic proposal from a gentleman with four arms.

We attended the greatest disco party in the solar system.

We met Elon Musk.

We traveled 69 million miles to Mars.

We danced beneath real celestial constellations.

We celebrated a beautiful Pleiadian bride.

We survived the most spectacular poker night in galactic history.

And we watched two old friends rediscover the magic of their friendship.

I have a genuine Pleiadian sapphire in my tiara.

John has practically admitted aliens exist.

And Rowan has somehow gotten glitter inside my journal.

AGAIN.

But the greatest treasure we brought home wasn't from Mars.

It was the reminder that the universe is enormous, mysterious, and filled with extraordinary possibilities.

And no matter how far we travel, the best adventures are the ones we share with the people we love.

Our chosen family.

Our guild.

Our wonderfully ridiculous, magnificently magical friends.

One final observation:

Club 69 is apparently still accepting reservations.

DeNae says absolutely not.

John says we should investigate the safety protocols first.

Julie wants to study the portal engineering.

Lala wants to know if the cocktails are included.

Mad wants a room with a celestial view.

Oksana is already smiling.

And Rowan has packed his glitter.

So naturally...

I'M THINKING WE SHOULD GO BACK. 🤣

Until the next impossible mystery,

With love, stardust, and a slightly crooked tiara,

Tara 👑💜

🪙 EPISODE 5 — THE COIN, THE SECRET AND THE MARTIAN SURPRISE 🌌

Today's discovery: MARS CURRENCY

The first golden rays of the Martian sunrise were beginning to spread across the desert.

Inside Club 69, the music had softened.

The last guests were saying goodbye.

The Pleiadian bridesmaids were taking photographs beneath the magical mirror ball.

And Rowan was attempting to sweep up several pounds of his own glitter.

I watched him for a moment.

"Rowan, darling, you're sweeping glitter with a glitter-covered broom."

He stopped.

Looked at the broom.

Then at the floor.

"Oh."

"Perhaps try magic?"

His eyes brightened.

"BRILLIANT!"

He snapped his fingers.

Every bit of glitter in the room rose into the air.

For one beautiful moment, it floated like an enormous golden cloud.

Then it landed directly on John.

Silence.

John looked down at his glitter-covered white disco suit.

Then slowly looked up.

"Rowan."

"YES?"

"Run."

Rowan vanished.

I nearly spilled my coffee laughing.

Yes.

Coffee.

REAL COFFEE.

Rhex had discovered that I was very particular about breakfast.

He had apparently spent part of the night consulting the club's Earth hospitality database.

And now, to my enormous delight, he had prepared a proper breakfast buffet.

Fresh eggs.

Warm pastries.

Fruit.

Coffee.

And an entire table of delicious Earth-style foods.

"FOR US?" I asked.

Rhex smiled.

"You took care of everyone tonight. I thought someone should take care of you."

Oh.

Well.

That was rather lovely.

Tara appeared beside me.

"DENAE! HE MADE YOU BREAKFAST!"

"Yes, Tara."

"HE'S IN LOVE!"

"TARA!"

"INTERGALACTIC ROMANCE!"

I shoved a pastry into her hand.

"Eat."

She grinned around it.

"YOU CAN'T SILENCE THE TRUTH!"

I walked away.

Meanwhile, Max was sitting quietly at the bar.

The bartender placed a beautiful silver-and-red coin in front of him.

"Your final responsibility, sir."

Max groaned.

"Please tell me that isn't another portal button."

The bartender laughed.

"No. It's the Mars Currency of Gratitude."

The coin glowed with tiny stars.

According to tradition, the person in charge of the evening received the final coin.

But it could not be kept.

It had to be given away.

To the person whose presence had made the night unforgettable.

Max looked around the room.

At John.

At Julie.

At Lala.

At Mad.

At Tara.

At Oksana.

At Rowan.

At me.

And at the extraordinary aliens who had made us feel so welcome.

He sighed.

"How am I supposed to choose?"

I sat beside him.

"Well, sweetheart, sometimes the most important person isn't the one who did the biggest thing."

Max considered that.

"Then who?"

I smiled.

"Sometimes it's the person who opened the door in the first place."

Max grew quiet.

Then he looked toward the entrance.

Anton had just arrived.

He'd been working all night behind the scenes, overseeing the portal systems and making sure everyone could safely return to Earth.

He looked exhausted.

But happy.

Max stood.

Walked over to his old friend.

And placed the coin in his hand.

Anton blinked.

"What's this?"

"The last Mars Currency of the night."

Anton smiled.

"Max, that's supposed to go to someone who made the evening special."

"Exactly."

Max paused.

"Eighteen years ago, we promised we'd never lose touch."

Anton nodded.

"But we did."

Max smiled.

"Then you found me again. And because of you, I had the most extraordinary night of my life."

Anton looked down at the coin.

Max continued.

"You trusted me with something important. You brought old friends together. And you reminded me that life still has surprises waiting."

He placed a hand on Anton's shoulder.

"So I'm choosing you."

For a moment, Anton couldn't speak.

Then he embraced Max.

And the coin began to glow.

A magnificent golden light filled the room.

The celestial mirror ball shimmered.

And a soft harmony spread through the club.

The Martian bartender bowed.

"The ancient magic recognizes friendship freely given."

I felt tears prick my eyes.

Because beneath all the glitter and disco music, that was what tonight had really been about.

Old friendships.

New friendships.

The family we choose.

And the wonderful people who make ordinary life extraordinary.

I squeezed Tara's hand.

She looked at me.

And for one rare, beautiful moment, neither of us said anything.

Then she whispered:

"Are you crying?"

"No."

"YES, YOU ARE!"

"So are you."

"THAT'S DIFFERENT!"

We hugged.

And laughed.

And cried a little more.

Then Rhex approached.

He was carrying a small velvet box.

Oh, heavens.

Tara spotted it immediately.

"DENAE! A BOX!"

I glared at her.

"Do NOT start."

Rhex smiled.

"This isn't part of the club tradition. It's a personal gift."

He opened the box.

Inside lay a beautiful little emerald-green crystal pendant surrounded by tiny silver stars.

"It is called the Heart of Mars."

I stared.

"It's beautiful."

"The crystal was formed in the ancient caverns beneath this city. It is given to someone whose kindness brings light to others."

He gently placed it in my hand.

"The green reminded me of you."

Well.

I was officially speechless.

Again.

Twice in one night.

A new personal record.

Then the crystal began to glow softly.

Rhex smiled.

"It will shine whenever you remember this night."

I looked at him.

Then at the beautiful Martian sunrise.

And for one lovely moment, I wished we didn't have to leave quite so soon.

"Thank you," I whispered.

He took my hand.

"Until we meet again, My Emerald Lady."

Behind us, Tara made a noise that sounded like a strangled goose.

"OH. MY. GOSH."

I turned.

"TARA!"

She was already scribbling furiously in her journal.

I sighed.

There are some things even sixty-nine million miles cannot change.

📗 DENAE'S PRIVATE JOURNAL — DAY 5

Dear Journal,

Max gave the final Mars Currency to Anton.

And honestly, it was the sweetest moment of the entire night.

Two old friends.

Eighteen years apart.

Reunited by a completely ridiculous nightclub adventure.

I may have cried.

A little.

Possibly more than a little.

Rhex made us breakfast.

He also gave me a beautiful emerald pendant called the Heart of Mars.

It's lovely.

And it glows.

Tara has decided this means I am engaged.

I have informed her that she is grounded.

She reminded me that we are both grown women.

I told her I can still ground her emotionally.

She laughed.

I love that ridiculous little sister of mine.

Even when she makes me completely crazy.

Love,
DeNae 💚

🛸 THE CLOSING — EMERALD STARLIGHT AND THE ROAD HOME 🌍✨

Some adventures take you across the universe. The best ones remind you where home really is.

The Martian sunrise was magnificent.

Golden light spilled across the rust-red mountains.

The ancient canyons glowed beneath the pale morning sky.

And inside Club 69, we were finally preparing for our journey home.

I had checked everyone's belongings.

Twice.

Julie had her handbag.

Mad had her beautiful celestial compass.

Lala had her miraculous spill-proof cocktail glass.

John had his miniature floating solar system.

Tara had her precious Pleiadian sapphire embedded in her tiara.

And Rowan—

"ROWAN!"

He popped out from behind a velvet curtain.

"YES?"

"WHAT ARE YOU CARRYING?"

He looked down at the enormous sparkling sack in his hands.

"Souvenirs."

I folded my arms.

"Open it."

He hesitated.

"Do I have to?"

"Yes."

He opened the sack.

Inside were twelve miniature disco balls, three floating Martian lanterns, a glowing cocktail shaker, and approximately seventeen pounds of enchanted glitter.

I closed my eyes.

"ROWAN."

"They were GIFTS!"

"FROM WHOM?"

He thought for a moment.

"Mostly me."

I took a deep breath.

"Put them back."

He looked heartbroken.

"ALL OF THEM?"

I sighed.

"Keep one disco ball."

He threw his arms around me.

"YOU ARE THE BEST MOTHER OF SPARKLES EVER!"

I groaned.

That title was never going away.

Across the room, Elon was speaking with Anton near the enormous silver portal.

Max stood beside them.

Looking considerably wiser than he had at the beginning of the evening.

Elon smiled.

"Well, Max, quite a successful night."

Max stared.

"Successful?"

"Absolutely."

"I accidentally transported an entire nightclub to Mars!"

Elon nodded.

"The guests loved it."

"I changed ancient Martian traditions!"

"Excellent innovation."

"I nearly lost a royal bride!"

"She seemed very happy."

Max sighed.

"You're impossible."

Elon grinned.

"Welcome to the team."

Then the lights dimmed.

A soft celestial melody drifted through the club.

And from the magnificent upper balcony descended Princess Aeloria.

She was joined by the other Pleiadian princesses, their luminous white hair flowing over sparkling celestial-blue gowns.

Behind them floated a gathering of beautiful fairies.

Tara nearly exploded with excitement.

"DENAE! THE PRINCESSES!"

"I see them, sweetheart."

"THE FAIRIES!"

"Yes."

"THEY CAME TO SAY GOODBYE!"

"Yes, Tara."

"THIS IS SO MAGICAL!"

I smiled.

And you know what?

She was right.

It really was.

Princess Aeloria approached us.

"Before you return to Earth, we would like to offer a blessing of safe passage."

She raised her hands.

A beautiful ring of blue and silver starlight surrounded our guild.

Each of us received a special celestial gift.

Tara was given a tiny sapphire star for her jeweled tiara.

Julie received a magical constellation map.

John received his miniature solar system.

Lala received her spill-proof crystal glass.

Mad received her golden celestial compass.

Oksana was given a magnificent enchanted quill.

And Rowan received a tiny vial of pure starlight glitter.

I stared at the vial.

Then at the princess.

"Your Highness, with all due respect, do you have any idea what you've just done?"

The princess smiled mysteriously.

"Some gifts are meant to bring joy."

Rowan opened the vial.

A magnificent cloud of sparkling stars exploded across the room.

Every single person began to shimmer.

Even Elon.

I looked at his previously immaculate black suit.

Now covered in gold glitter.

Lala burst out laughing.

"WELL! LOOK WHO'S BEEN GOBLINIZED!"

Elon laughed.

John shook his head.

And Tara nearly fell over.

"BEST. GIFT. EVER!"

Princess Aeloria turned toward me.

"And for you, Lady DeNae..."

She held out her hands.

A beautiful emerald crystal floated between them.

It shimmered with green and silver light.

"The Heart of Mars you carry was given in friendship. This crystal is its companion."

I looked down at the pendant Rhex had given me.

It began to glow.

The princess smiled.

"Together, they will remind you that kindness creates connections across even the greatest distances."

She placed the small crystal in my hand.

"Whenever you feel far from those you love, remember that distance cannot diminish a true bond."

I felt my eyes filling with tears.

Again.

Good grief.

I was becoming positively sentimental.

I embraced her.

"Thank you. For everything."

She smiled.

"You are always welcome among the stars."

Then Rhex approached.

I could hardly believe the evening was ending.

He offered me one final dance.

"Just one more, My Emerald Lady?"

I looked at the portal.

Then at my friends.

Then back at him.

"Oh, why not?"

And there, beneath the magnificent glass ceiling of Club 69, I danced one last time with my handsome Martian friend.

The music was soft.

The stars shimmered.

My emerald gown swirled.

And for a few beautiful moments, I forgot about schedules and responsibilities and the endless task of keeping my little sister out of trouble.

I simply enjoyed the magic.

When the music ended, Rhex kissed my hand.

"Until next time."

I smiled.

"Take good care of yourself."

"And you, My Emerald Lady."

Naturally, Tara was watching.

Naturally, she was grinning.

And naturally, she opened her mouth.

I pointed at her.

"NOT. ONE. WORD."

She zipped her lips.

Then made an enormous heart shape with her hands.

I shook my head.

Hopeless.

Absolutely hopeless.

Anton announced that the portal was ready.

The enormous silver doorway began to glow.

The number 69 shimmered in brilliant purple and gold.

Elon raised his hand.

"Thank you for joining us at the 69 Million Miles Club!"

We waved goodbye to the beautiful Pleiadians.

To the extraordinary alien guests.

To the wonderful Martians.

And to the most amazing celestial nightclub I'd ever seen.

Then we stepped into the portal.

The stars swirled around us.

The music faded.

The Martian mountains disappeared.

And—

WHOOSH!

We were home.

Mystery Manor Village.

The familiar cobblestone streets.

The Victorian buildings.

The peaceful morning air.

Not a spaceship in sight.

Not a Martian to be seen.

Just our beautiful, familiar village.

I took a deep breath.

"HOME."

John looked around.

"Well, that was certainly an educational experience."

Tara stared at him.

"EDUCATIONAL?!"

He smiled.

"Among other things."

"JOHN! ADMIT THE ALIENS ARE REAL!"

He glanced at the floating solar system in his hands.

Then at Tara's glowing sapphire tiara.

Then at the portal.

He sighed.

"I may need to revise a few theories."

Tara screamed.

I covered my ears.

"OH, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!"

Lala raised her glass.

"To the most ridiculous night of our lives!"

Mad smiled.

"And the most beautiful sunrise!"

Julie laughed.

"And the most scientifically fascinating adventure!"

Oksana nodded.

"And to all the friendships we have made."

Rowan tossed a final handful of glitter into the air.

"AND TO SPARKLES!"

I stared at the floating glitter.

Then looked at my wonderful, ridiculous friends.

And laughed.

Because what else could I possibly do?

We had traveled sixty-nine million miles.

Danced with aliens.

Celebrated a royal Pleiadian bride.

Survived an ancient Martian poker competition.

And made it safely home.

All of us.

Together.

I reached for Tara's hand.

She squeezed mine.

"Pretty amazing night, huh, sis?"

I smiled.

"Yes, Tara. Pretty amazing."

She leaned closer.

"So... when are we going back?"

I stared at her.

"TARA!"

She burst out laughing.

And I realized something.

As exhausting as our adventures could be...

As much as I worried...

As often as I found myself saying her name in complete exasperation...

I wouldn't trade these memories for anything in the universe.

Not even a quiet evening at home.

Although I would very much appreciate one occasionally.

📗 BEFORE THE INK DRIES… 💚✨

Dear Journal,

We made it home.

Safe and sound.

Every single one of us.

Which is something of a miracle considering the people I travel with.

Tonight, I learned a few things.

First, always pack snacks.

Even if you're only going to a nightclub.

You never know when someone might accidentally transport you sixty-nine million miles away.

Second, never trust a cocktail shaker that glows.

Third, if Rowan announces that he's going to "improve" something with magic, immediately move to a safe distance.

Preferably another planet.

Fourth, my little sister Tara was right.

Aliens exist.

There.

I wrote it.

I will NEVER say it aloud.

She would be unbearable.

Actually, she's already unbearable.

But she's my unbearable little sister.

And I love her more than all the stars in the sky.

Tonight, I watched her dreams come alive.

I saw her dance beneath the heavens.

I watched her eyes sparkle when the Pleiadian princesses appeared.

And I remembered what a gift it is to see the world through her eyes sometimes.

She sees magic everywhere.

I see the risks.

But together, we somehow manage to find the most extraordinary adventures.

Julie brought wisdom.

John brought logic.

Lala brought laughter.

Mad brought beauty and wonder.

Oksana brought guidance.

Rowan brought magic.

And Tara brought the impossible.

As for me?

I brought snacks.

I brought tissues.

I brought common sense.

And somewhere along the way, I remembered to bring a little joy into my own life too.

I danced with a handsome Martian.

I wore a royal emerald crown.

I made wonderful new friends.

I received a beautiful crystal pendant.

And for one extraordinary night, I wasn't just the responsible big sister.

I was DeNae.

A woman in a beautiful green gown, dancing beneath the stars of another world.

And that felt pretty wonderful.

My Heart of Mars pendant is glowing softly beside me as I write.

I wonder if Rhex is watching the sunset on Mars right now.

Or perhaps making another delicious breakfast for some lucky traveler.

I hope he remembers our dance.

I know I will.

As for tomorrow?

I plan to sleep late.

Drink my coffee.

Enjoy a peaceful breakfast.

And absolutely, positively, under NO circumstances agree to another mysterious adventure.

At least not before lunch.

Because knowing Tara...

She's probably already planning something.

And knowing me...

I'll be packing the snacks.

With love, gratitude, and a little emerald starlight,

DeNae 💚

P.S. — Tara just knocked on my door.

She says Elon might have a nightclub on SATURN.

I am changing the locks.

🪩 CLUB 69 — THE END... UNTIL THE STARS CALL AGAIN! 🛸💚
